Here's another treat from the archives for you. This is from when Tru_Creative delivered a drawing lesson.
It’s a vampire squirrel. Big ears, bat wings, swimsuit thing, stupid little fangs, and loads of shape going on. It looks busy at first, but once you break it down into blocks, it’s actually really manageable.
The big lesson in this tutorial is building a character from simple structure first, then layering the interesting bits on top. Rectangles, triangles, curves, then details. It’s also a good one for practicing spacing, because if you don’t leave yourself enough room, the wings and ears start fighting for space.
