In this guest session with artist Uhoh, you’ll draw a stacked ice cream cone with faces, drips and loads of character.
It’s a simple one to get going with because the shapes are easy to build, and there’s loads of room to make it your own once the basic structure is in place.

Materials
- Pencil
- Sharpie
- Marker pens
- Tombow dual-ended pen
- Promarkers
- Posca pens
- Battery-powered eraser
- Paper
Notes: You can keep it simple with just pencil and a black pen if that’s all you’ve got. For shading, pencil works fine if you don’t have markers.

Take It Further
Once you’ve got one down, don’t stop there.
Try one of these:
- Change the drips
Move the drips around, add extra melt lines, or push them further over the edges to give the ice cream more movement. - Play with the background
Try a box, circle or odd shape behind it, then fill it with scribble texture to make the main drawing stand out more. - Add your own extras
Give the cherry a face, switch the expressions up, or throw in little details like leaves, ears or different mouth shapes.
Keep it loose and try stuff. A lot of the best bits come from not overthinking it.
