This one is less about drawing a finished masterpiece and more about learning how to make alcohol markers actually do what you want.
We’re using simple kawaii characters so all the focus can go on the colour. Blending light into dark, touching nibs to get a gradient, layering extra shadows once things dry, and using the blender to leave a bright highlight around the edge.
The big lesson in this tutorial is that pro markers work best when you stop trying to overcontrol them. Get the colour down, move quickly, let the ink do some of the work, then come back in once it’s dry and build up more depth.
