In this session, you’ll draw a simple character step by step using loose guidelines and bold lines. It’s quick, a bit messy, and that’s exactly the point.

Materials
- Pencil
- Twin tip Sharpie
- Fine liner pen
Notes:
Any marker with a thick and thin option will work. Don’t worry about perfect paper—anything you’ve got is fine.

Take It Further
Now you’ve got one down, keep it going. Try one of these:
- Change the expression
Move the pupils or tweak the mouth shape to completely change the vibe. - Play with the teeth
Swap the bouncy line for sharp, square, or tiny teeth to give it a different feel. - Push the details
Add more fur, scratches, or marks to make it look rougher or more textured.
Don’t overthink it. The messy bits usually end up being the best parts.
