This session is run by KDVM, an artist who regularly hosts sessions in the Korp Academy. In this tutorial, she’ll show you how to draw a chunky little crab with oversized claws, spindly legs and a seriously crabby expression, using bold black shadows and rough textures to give it a comic-book feel.
In this tutorial, we’re drawing a wonky shrimp with oversized eyes, wriggly legs and a layered shell. The main challenge is blending three colours around each section of the shell to create reflections, shadows and a rounded shape.
