In this session we join guest artist KDVM to draw some beautiful paper lanterns using alcohol markers. These lanterns are sketchy and loose in style with colour inspired Brandon Campbell.
This is a nice easy tutorial that gives you a chance to test out some pens on how well they look together and blend together. In it we colour around some pencil lines then rub them out to create an interesting effect for this tiki totem pole.
I love using simple shapes to draw weird looking characters! This tutorials just uses D shapes and triangles to help get started and hardly any black lines to keep it light and fresh.
I loved drawing this! It's a big piece but takes not time because of all the nagative space we use. No blending and barely any colouring in also keep this tutotial short and sweet.
We keep materials to the bare minimum for this drawing of Lumpy from Happy Tree Friends. Just 3 colours and a black fineliner are needed to finish this piece off (although I did add a little grey drop shadow at the end).
