In this tutorial, we’re drawing a cactus plant with a cat face mashed into it. It’s a fun little character to try because the shapes are simple, the colours do a lot of the work, and there’s loads of room to make it your own without overthinking it.

Cactus Ghost

We’re drawing a cactus dressed up as a ghost, using the white of the paper for most of the sheet and a little grey for the folds and shadows. There’s some simple two-tone Posca work on the cactus, with cutting in and flicked lines to add the finishing details.

Blended Cactus

In this tutorial, we’re drawing a tall cactus and using alcohol markers to practise some longer blends. We’ll use two shades of green to build the shape, add a blended flower and finish with black and white spikes.
