Safeguarding Policy

The Korp Academy is committed to providing a safe, respectful and creative online environment.
Most members are adults. However, some areas of the platform may be accessed by members under 18 with parental supervision. This policy explains how safeguarding is managed across all areas of the platform.
1. Age Structure of The Korp Academy
The Korp Academy consists of:
- The main Korp Academy membership (PG-rated content)
- The 8 O’Clock Club (strictly 18+)
These areas are treated differently in terms of safeguarding.
2. The Main Korp Academy (PG-Rated)
The main Korp Academy membership is designed to be broadly appropriate for a general audience.
- Content may include:
- Stylised monsters and zombies
- Playful or surreal themes
Creative drawing exercises
Explicit adult content is not permitted within the main Korp Academy.
Members under 18 may access the main Korp Academy only with the knowledge and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
Parents and guardians are fully responsible for monitoring their child’s use of the platform.
3. The 8 O’Clock Club (18+ Only)
The 8 O’Clock Club is strictly for adults aged 18 and over.
This section includes drawing sessions that may explore:
- Horror and gore
- Drug and alcohol themes
- Explicit adult content
- Drawings of male and female genitalia
- Other mature subject matter
Due to the nature of this content, under-18s are not permitted to access or participate in the 8 O’Clock Club under any circumstances.
By joining the 8 O’Clock Club, members confirm they are aged 18 or over.
Access may be removed immediately if age requirements are breached.
4. Parental Responsibility (Under-18 Members)
Where a member is under 18 in the main Korp Academy:
Parents/guardians must:
- Supervise platform use
- Monitor direct messages
- Monitor video call features
- Decide whether their child appears on camera during live sessions
- Ensure appropriate online behaviour
The Korp Academy does not provide one-to-one supervision of minors.
We are an online educational platform, not a childcare provider.
5. Platform Features & Safeguarding Risks
The Korp Academy includes:
- Community discussion areas
- Direct member-to-member messaging
- Optional member video calls
- Live Zoom sessions
- Live Kajabi video chat rooms
- Recorded live sessions
These features involve interaction between members.
While community standards are enforced, private conversations are not actively monitored.
Parents and guardians must supervise under-18 members’ use of messaging and video features.
6. Live Sessions & Recordings
Live sessions are routinely recorded.
Recordings may be:
- Shared with members
- Uploaded to YouTube
- Used for educational or promotional purposes
By participating in live sessions, members acknowledge:
- Their voice may be recorded
- Their display name may be visible
- If camera is enabled, their image may appear in recordings
Use of camera and microphone is optional.
Parents/guardians are responsible for managing under-18 participation settings.
7. Community Standards
All members must:
- Treat others with respect
- Avoid harassment, bullying, or intimidation
- Avoid sharing personal contact details publicly
- Not request or send inappropriate images or content
- Not move conversations with minors off-platform
Any behaviour that compromises the safety of others may result in immediate removal without refund.
8. Reporting Concerns
Safeguarding concerns should be reported to:
Concerns will be reviewed promptly.
Where there is a credible risk of harm, we reserve the right to escalate concerns to relevant authorities in accordance with UK safeguarding guidance.
9. Our Limitations
The Korp Academy:
- Is an online membership platform
- Is not regulated childcare
- Does not conduct background checks on members
- Does not actively monitor private conversations
We provide a structured creative environment and enforce community standards, but parents/guardians retain safeguarding responsibility for minors using the platform.
10. Policy Updates
This policy may be updated as the platform evolves.
Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the current safeguarding policy.
